1997 - Marc Routh

Marc Routh has been a producing partner with Tom Viertel, Richard Frankel and Steven Baruch for over twenty years. Their current productions include Gypsy, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, Hairspray, and Stomp in New York, Stomp Out Loud in Las Vegas, and Hairspray in London. Upcoming productions include Leap of Faith with music by Alan Menken and directed by Taylor Hackford and The Hudsucker Proxy directed by Jerry Zaks. Past productions include The Producers, Company, Sweeney Todd, The Fantasticks, Little Shop of Horrors, Swing, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Penn and Teller, Driving Miss Daisy, Love Letters, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Angels in America and many others.

He is a co-founder of Broadway Asia with Simone Genatt. In addition to his work with the Baruch / Frankel / Viertel / Routh Group and Broadway Asia, Mr. Routh is an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Department of Theatre Studies for Brooklyn College where he has taught "Business Management for the Performing Arts" for the last 13 years. He has lectured at Columbia University, Youngstown State University, New York University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Commercial Theatre Institute, and internationally at conferences and seminars. He has been inducted into the NYU Business School Entrepreneurs' Hall of Fame, received the Brooklyn College Managers for the Arts Award from Brooklyn College and is the recipient of the Robert Whitehead Award as Outstanding Commercial Theatre Producer. Mr. Routh also served as the president of The League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers from 1999-2007.

Mr. Routh is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. His early career included working as a press agent on and off Broadway, and in various administrative capacities for The O'Neill Theatre Center, Playmakers Repertory Company, and Horse Cave Theatre.
